How to avoid phishing and wallet scams

Keeping your wallet secure is essential. Below are key steps to help protect yourself from phishing attacks and scams:

1. Never Share Your Seed Phrase or Private Key

Your seed phrase is your master key. No one from Kyvo, ParlerPay, or Optio will ever ask for it. If someone does, it is a scam.

2. Use Only Official Websites and Apps

Scammers often create fake websites that look identical to the real ones. Always:

  • Double-check the website URL
  • Bookmark the official sites
  • Download apps only from trusted sources like the App Store or Google Play

3. Beware of Fake Support Accounts

Fraudsters may pose as support agents on Telegram, Discord, or email. A good rule of thumb:

If someone contacts you first, it’s likely not legitimate.

Always use official support channels when seeking help.

4. Avoid Suspicious Links and Attachments

Even if a link or file comes from someone you know, their account may have been compromised. Be cautious and verify before clicking or downloading anything.

5. Enable Security Features

  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Enable biometric login (e.g., Face ID or fingerprint)
  • Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) when available

6. Stay Informed

Follow Kyvo and Optio’s official communication channels for:

  • Scam alerts
  • Platform updates
  • Security tips and best practices
